Is beginning online therapy easy?

Incredibly. You can begin by clicking on the button below. You will then be redirected to our client portal where you will be given a choice of services available. You will then be directed to a calendar that shows my available time slots. After you choose a time and date that works for you, I will confirm your request and email your intake documents that include consent to online therapy, practice policies, a questionnaire, and a safe way for you to save your credit card information with us. Once these are filled out, I will email you a link that will direct you to our video portal that we will both open on the day and time you have set up.

What if I don’t have the ability to have a video session?

I also provide phone sessions that do not require a video feed.

Do I need to download anything?

If using a phone or tablet for the session, you will be required to download an app. If you are using a laptop/computer, the link will take you to a new tab in your browser with no need to download anything.

Is online therapy safe?

The portal I use is HIPAA compliant. You can add to our privacy by using earphones/headphones and making sure others are not around for our conversations. Some clients take their sessions outside, some take it to their vehicles to ensure privacy, others just get comfortable in their room with the door closed.

Is online therapy effective?

Recent studies have shown online therapy to be as effective as in-person.

How long are your sessions?

Individual counseling sessions are 50 minutes long. Couples and family sessions are 80 minutes.

Is there anything else I should know?

It helps to have a light source on your face, natural light works best. It also helps to have a light colored background behind you and to be far enough away from the camera that I can see your hands, especially if you like to talk with your hands. Placing the camera at eye level is optimal.
